Earlier today, Uber announced the launch of Uber One in Kenya. This is the company’s new subscription option, which offers discounts and exclusive experiences for both rides and deliveries. The service costs Ksh 280 per month or Ksh 2,800 per year.

Uber One offers member-only upgrades including top-rated drivers on rides and premium support.

Uber One Benefits

Some of the other benefits you can expect with your subscription include: 

  • Ksh 0 Delivery Fee on food, grocery, and other orders over the minimum subtotal. This is applicable to orders above Ksh 600. 
  • Up to 100% off Service Fee on delivery and pickup orders over the minimum subtotal.
  • 10% in Uber One credits on Premium rides including Comfort & UberXL, and 5% on Economy rides such as UberX.
  • Member-only promos and special items. 

How to Subscribe to an Uber One Membership

Purchasing a membership is straightforward and can be done through the app.

Subscribing Through the Uber Eats App

  • On the Uber Eats app, tap on the ‘Account’ option in the lower right-hand corner. 
  • Tap on ‘Uber One’ and then follow the screen prompts. 

Subscribing Through the Uber App

If you are using the Uber app:

  • Tap on your profile icon.
  • Choose ‘Uber One’ and then follow the prompts to enroll. 

Note: Subscriptions will automatically renew and the monthly fee is non-refundable. 

How to Cancel Your Uber One Subscription

You can cancel your Uber One subscription, and you should do so 48 hours before your next scheduled payment to avoid any charges. 

One the Uber app:

  • Tap on the profile icon and then on ‘Uber One’
  • Scroll to ‘Manage Subscription’  then choose ‘End Subscription’ and then ‘Leave Uber One’. 

When you cancel your subscription, you will still have access to the benefits until the end of your current billing period.
