What to Expect from Samsung’s Unpacked Event on January 22

Samsung Galaxy Unpacked January 2025

Samsung’s first unpacked event of 2025 is scheduled for January 22. The company is expected to unveil its  “Next Big Thing”. We are expecting a number of devices at the launch including the Galaxy S25 series.

Samsung normally launches its flagship smartphone series, the Galaxy S series, in January. With the Galaxy S25 series, we expect to see three models, the Standard, Plus and Ultra. This has been the trend by most smartphone manufacturers recently including Samsung.

With the Galaxy S25 series, I do not expect many design changes. From the rumors circulating online, we expect subtle design changes including rounded corners, flatter edges and thinner bezels. The screen sizes for the Galaxy S25 and S25+ will remain as they are on the S24 series but the S25 Ultra is expected to have a slightly larger size.

We don’t have the details about the processors but the US version is expected to come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. It is not clear if the international variant will have an Exynos chipset or if they will have the Qualcomm processor too.

As it has been the case with recent Samsung phones, AI will be a key part during the event.

We don’t have all the details as of yet but the event is happening in less than a week and we should have all the details as we get close to January 22.
