Over the past couple of years, Infinix has been innovating the battery and charging tech powering its smartphones. We saw the introduction of Infinix’s All-Round 260W Fast Charge and 110W wireless charging last year. These charging speeds and still not widely available on most of its smartphones in Kenya but we still get decently fast charging speeds on some. These include the Infinix Note 40 Pro that I reviewed recently.
The Infinix Note 40 Pro supports both wired and wireless charging, has a relatively large battery and supports reverse charging. Having used this phone for a few weeks, I thought I should share a bit about the battery and charging and let you know if this makes the phone stand out from its competitors within the same price range.
Infinix FastCharge 2.0
The Infinix Note 40 Pro features FastCharge 2.0 that is driven by the Infinix Cheetah X1. This is the company’s first self-developed power management chip. This chip combines high-precision power erection, versatile scene support and secure voltage detection modules into a single unit. This combination makes it efficient and safe.

70W FastCharge
One of the standout features of the Infinix Note 40 Pro is its 70W charging speeds. This guarantees that you will get an entire day of usage with just a few minutes of charging. For example, charging the phone for 5 minutes gets you:
- 2 hours of gaming
- 9 hours of calling
- 5 hours of video playback
- 2 hours of map navigation
You can charge this battery from 0 to 50% with just 20 minutes of charging.
Still on charging, this phone supports Bypass Charging 2.0 which charges the motherboard directly reducing heat buildup by 4.5°C. This allows your device to stay cool and perform at optimal levels even when being used intensively.
MagCharge Wireless Charging
Gone are the days of fumbling with chargers as the Infinix Note 40 Pro supports Wireless MagCharge. All you have to do is place the phone on the provided MagPad and the phone starts charging. The MagPad is included for free in the box. This phone supports 20W wireless charging which is decently quick for wireless charging.
Reverse Charging
The Infinix Note 40 Pro’s reverse charging support ensures that you’re never without power. This feature allows you to charge other devices, including phones and accessories. Supported by OTG reverse charge and wireless reverse charge, you can power up anytime, anywhere.
AI Charging Protection
Most of us charge our phones when we go to bed. To ensure the battery life is prolonged, the Infinix Note 40 Pro features AI charging protection that keeps the device at 80% battery when you are sleeping and charging it to 100% just before you wake up.
Multi-Protocol Compatibility
The Infinix Note 40 Pro is compatible with PD3.0 across various devices from phones, chargers, and cables. What this means is you can fast charge your phones with third party accessories and not just the charging adapter and cable provided in the box.
