The OPPO Reno 11 F was unveiled in Kenya a few weeks back and is currently available in stores starting from Ksh 47,999. This is one of the handful of devices in the Reno 11 series, a successor to the Reno 10 that we reviewed last year.
I have been using the Reno 11 F for a few weeks and in this review, I will be sharing my thoughts on it to help you decide if it is worth your money.

Design and Build
With the Reno 11 F, OPPO has ditched the slightly curved design we have come to associate the Reno series with. The phone has a flat display and back which is not necessarily appealing. This makes it look like almost any other smartphone you can find on the market. OPPO still has the curved design on the standard Reno 11 which is slightly more expensive than this.
The flat design may not be my favorite but is not entirely bad. The phone is still comfortable to hold and does attract attention from time to time.
The camera module at the back is more pronounced and will definitely stand out. I got the green variant which looks stunning especially outdoors under direct sunlight. I would recommend this color over the blue one as it just looks classy yet subtle.
Display
This is one of the things I love about this phone. This display is a delight to use. OPPO used a 6.7 inch AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support. AMOLED displays have always been the best for smartphones as the colors are well reproduced and the blacks are deep. If you are into media consumption, this display will be perfect for you. It is big enough for a smartphone and is vibrant to make the viewing experience worth it.
The display can be used outdoors even under direct sunlight without any issues. It gets bright enough for such environments and has amazing viewing angles. This display is protected by Panda glass which shields it off from accidental scratches and drops.
Performance and software
The OPPO Reno 11 F comes withthe Mediatek Dimensity 7050 chipset which is paired with 8GB of RAM and at least 128GB of storage. The Dimensity 7050 processor is the same one that was on the Reno 10 from last year. It is still a capable processor that handles well when running light and even heavy tasks. I did not have any performance issues when reviewing this phone and even managed to play some games perfectly.
The one thing I am not a fan of is the single firing speaker at the bottom. It is good but the sound is not rich with bass and it is just a single speaker, no stereo speakers here. I think having stereo speakers could have made the phone stand out.
For the OS, we do get Android 14 with ColorOS 14 out of the box. The phone is scheduled to get at least 2 major OS updates when available. Color OS 14 has some new features but nothing crazy compared to Color OS 13. If you have used the previous version, you will feel right at home with this.
Cameras
This is where we see massive upgrades compared to the Reno 10 series. The cameras are really good at capturing details in varying lighting conditions. This is the case for both the back and front facing camera. Have a look at the samples below.
Battery
With a 5000 mAh battery, using this phone for an entire day on a single charge is possible. The battery supports 67W charging that can fully charge it from 0% in less than an hour. It also does not get hot when charging which is a plus.
Verdict
Having used the OPPO Reno 11 F for a few weeks, I find it the perfect upgrade to the Reno 10 series. The design isn’t as good as what we had with the Reno 10 but everything else is a plus. OPPO used the same processor so performance will not be that different between the two. For its price, this is a very good phone. This is what I like about it:
- Display – crisp and very sharp.
- Performance – reliable even when handling heavy tasks.
- Cameras – good in varying lighting conditions.
- Battery – long lasting and reliable.
