Carrefour has introduced self-checkout services at its Village Market store. This move comes on the heels of a successful pilot at the Westgate Shopping Mall store last March. At the store, the self-checkout service contributed to a remarkable 59% increase in customer satisfaction ratings and loyalty.
Since the initial launch of the self-checkout service in March last year, Carrefour has witnessed a significant uptick in customer satisfaction scores. The reduced waiting time at checkout counters has translated into a more efficient and enjoyable shopping experience for customers, fostering loyalty and positive feedback.
Christophe Orcet, Regional Director – East Africa, Majid Al Futtaim Retail, said, “The launch of the self-checkout service last year was a significant milestone for our business. We have seen our customers enjoy reduced waiting time at the checkout counters, resulting in a more efficient shopping experience. Today, as we expand the service to our second store, we look forward to providing our customers with enhanced convenience.”
As of now, Carrefour operates 22 stores across Kenya, with Nairobi hosting 17 stores, two in Kisumu, and three in Mombasa.
