The world’s leading blockchain ecosystem and infrastructure provider, Binance, has partnered with Miti Alliance, a social enterprise in Kenya, to collaborate with young students in planting trees for their community. This partnership underscores the vital importance of combining crypto innovation with tree-planting efforts for a sustainable future.
The community event last week included 92 Binancians, over 120 students, and Binance’s East and West Africa Director, Nadeem Anjarwalla. Each student was allocated three trees, which they were responsible for watering and caring for. The Miti Alliance team will conduct regular visits to the locations to ensure the trees’ health, including replanting any damaged trees within the next year.
Miti Alliance, whose work focuses on Environmental Education by empowering and equipping the current and next generation of conservationists, provided logistics for acquiring trees, prepared the locations, and delivered education on tree planting in Kamandura, Kenya.
“The reason behind the school visit and partnership with Binance is to train and equip students with environmental skills and knowledge. We are proud to have partnered with Binance; this small step allows the digital world to be part of a greener future,” explains Joan Kinyanjui, the project coordinator for Miti Alliance.”
