The Tecno Phantom V Flip May Launch in Kenya in October

Tecno Phantom V Flip Kenya

Last week, Tecno unveiled its first flip phone, the Tecno Phantom V Flip. The phone will be launching in India in the beginning of next month (October) and we might also get it in Kenya before the end of the month.

The launch of the Phantom V Flip in Kenya depends on a lot of factors, one being clearance by customs. There have been a number of delays with customs clearance and this has pushed forward a number of smartphone launches in Kenya. I just hope this will not be the case with the Phantom V Flip.

The Tecno Phantom V Flip’s price is what got my attention when the phone was announced. In India, the phone will retail for INR 49,999 which converts to around Ksh 87,400. This is just a fraction of what OPPO and Samsung are selling their flip phones in Kenya. When the phone launches in Kenya, I don’t expect the price to deviate from what I have indicated and this will make it one of the cheapest flip phones you can get in Kenya at the moment.

The flip phone market is still growing and as more affordable devices come to the market, consumers will have more variety to choose from. More devices on the market will also lower the prices that are currently still high in my opinion. This is why the launch of the Phantom V Flip is significant for this sub sector. The phone also comes with decent specs that are worth checking out.
