The Nokia C10 was launched in Kenya back in July and is currently available in stores for Ksh 8,000. This is the latest in the company’s growing C series which is HMD’s entry-level smartphone series. The C10 joins the Nokia C1 and C1 Plus that we saw in Kenya a few months back.
The Nokia C10 is an Android Go smartphone and with that it comes with a tweaked version of Android that is meant to handle well on a phone with low end hardware like this one. Just like any Nokia smartphone, the Nokia C10 is guaranteed to get at least 2 major Android OS updates and monthly security patches from Google.

Nokia C10 First Impressions
Given that it is an entry level smartphone, you expect that from the first time you interact with the Nokia C10. This does not mean that the phone is of low quality but you don’t really expect premium touches here.
The phone still feels well built as is the case with most other Nokia smartphones. This is what Nokia smartphones have been known for and the legacy seems to still be alive. The Nokia C10 feels sturdy and should withstand anything.
The back cover is removable and so is the battery. The back cover is made of plastic and removing it gives you access to the battery bay as well as the dual SIM card and SD card slots. Speaking of the SIM card slots, the Nokia C10 only supports 3G connectivity and no 4G. This is quite a disappointment to be honest as we are in 2021 as there are cheaper phones that support 4G LTE.

Still at the back is where we get the 5MP camera that HMD Global promises that it can take really good shots even at night. This is what I will be testing and sharing in the full review in the coming weeks.
You get some of the usual ports and buttons including the Micro USB slot at the bottom, headphone jack at the top and the power and volume buttons on the right side. The power and volume buttons are within easy reach and you can even reach them when using the phone with just one hand.
For the display, the Nokia C10 has a 6.52-inch screen with a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels. The display is quite good and is very bright and vibrant. It is not a full HD display but I doubt many people will be complaining about it that much. It is usable and gets the job done without any issues. You can use this display in different lighting conditions without any problems.
The Nokia C10 comes with Android 11 out of the box and is an Android Go Edition smartphone. This tweaked version of Android is made for such a phone and it does handle well. No performance issues so far and I don’t expect that on a phone that is still new.
The phone comes with no bloatware as is the case with other Nokia smartphones. The pre-installed apps you get are those from Google and not other additional ones that you will not need in the future. With no bloatware, you expect good performance and that is what you are getting. I will be diving deep into this and the full review and share my thoughts once I use the phone for much longer.
