Tecno Camon 17 Pro Vs Samsung Galaxy A32

Camon 17 Pro vs Galaxy A32

If You are looking for a smartphone within the Ksh 25,000 and Ksh 30,000 price range, you may have come across the Tecno Camon 17 Pro and the Samsung Galaxy A32 among other devices. These are some of the latest from the two manufacturers to be launched in Kenya.

The Tecno Camon 17 Pro is part of the Camon 17 series and is available in Kenya for Ksh 28,899. The Samsung Galaxy A32 on the other hand is available starting from Ksh 26,000. Given that these two almost cost the same, seeing what each has to offer and which one you may want to consider is important.

I have used both phones and with that, I am able to compare some of the key things they have to offer to help you decide which one is the right choice for you. In this post, I will highlight top 5 things that I will use to compare these two devices.

Display

The Tecno Camon 17 Pro comes with a 6.8-inch display with a resolution of 1080 x 2460 pixels. This display is good, it gets bright when you need it to and this can be useful outside under direct sunlight.

The Galaxy A32 on the other hand has a 6.43-inch display with a 1080 by 2400-pixel resolution. This is slightly smaller than the Camon 17 Pro’s display but not by much. The A32 is also an AMOLED display with deep blacks.

Both displays support 90Hz refresh rates which is something that is becoming a standard on most smartphones. At the end of the day, the display you prefer will go down to size, if you want a bigger display for media consumption or gaming, the Camon 17 Pro may be the right choice for you.

Performance

The Tecno Camon 17 Pro is powered by the MediaTek Helio G95 processor that the company has paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage space. The Galaxy A32 s powered by the MediaTek Helio G80 processor that the company has paired with either 4 or 6GB of RAM with either 64 or 128GB of storage. I got the 6GB RAM model with 128GB of storage space.

More RAM and storage space is always good to have and that is what the Camon 17 Pro is offering. As for the processors, they both come with powerful processors from MediaTek with the Helio G95 being newer and offering slightly better performance overall.

Battery

Both phones come with 5,000 mAh batteries that should easily last you an entire day. I have used both phones and in most cases I have enough left even when I go to bed at night. A 5,000 mAh battery is not small and it is good to see it on both phones.

With big batteries, the biggest issue is always charging time. Both phones support some form of fast charging with the Galaxy A32 supporting 15W fast charging while the Camon 17 Pro supporting 25W fast charging. 25W is definitely faster than 15W and should definitely be your choice if you need slightly faster charging speeds.

Cameras

The back camera setup of the Camon 17 Pro is made up of a 64MP main sensor, an 8MP ultrawide sensor, a 2MP depth sensor and another 2MP monochrome sensor. The Tecno Camon 17 Pro is a camera-centric phone and you do not expect anything less coming from the camera. The back camera also supports 4K video recording.

With the Samsung Galaxy A32, you are getting a total of 5 cameras, 4 at the back and 1 for selfies. At the back we have a 64MP main sensor that takes really good shots in different lighting conditions. The back camera also records clear videos at 1080p. The other cameras at the back include an 8MP ultrawide lens, 5MP macro lens and a 5MP depth sensor.

For selfies, the Camon 17 Pro has a 48MP sensor for that. The selfies you will get with this camera are really good to say the least. They are vibrant and detailed even when the lighting is not so good. For selfies, we have a 20MP wide angle lens on the Galaxy A32 that is quite good too but not as good as the 48MP sensor on the Camon 17 Pro.
