Apple has an incoming Spring Loaded event next week, Tuesday, April 20. The company confirmed the launch date late Tuesday, but there are no official details on what will be unveiled at the event, as is typical.
However, the new launch date is in line with a March report that the company will launch its new high-end iPads in April.
Several details about the new iPad Pros have been thrown around since then, including a camera and processor upgrade. That should make up for the lack of a design change from last year’s models. Two iPad Pros are expected to be unveiled, featuring 11- and 12.9-inch displays.
One exciting detail about the new 12.9-inch model is it could be the company’s first iPad to sport premium Mini LED display technology. The new panel should give the bigger iPad Pro more edge over the smaller siblings.
And on the performance front, rumor suggests the new iPads’ processor will be just as powerful as Apple’s first in-house desktop silicon running the M1 Macs launched November 2020.
USB C ports are also likely to receive an upgrade.
Away from the new iPad Pros, the company might also unveil other devices. The company has been reported to be working on new models of iMacs, MacBooks, and even AirPods.
AirTags, Apple’s long-rumored tracker, might also finally make an appearance to take on Samsung’s $29.99(~Ksh 3,000) SmartThings.
