These LG Phones will Receive Android 12 and 13

LG WING

LG is exiting the smartphone business due to continued loss. The company announced April 5. The company also announced that it would be seeding out up to three major Android updates to its premium smartphones launched in 2019 and later. For some of its mid-range devices launched in 2020, the company said it would roll out two major Android updates.

Furthermore, the company has now added more details, including an Android 11 update roadmap for some devices.

According to an update posted on LG Germany’s website(via AA), the company is already testing Android 11 for some of its devices. Unfortunately, most of these updates are expected to roll out in the last quarter of the year.

Phones eligible for Android 11 include LG Velvet 5G, LG G8X (Q3 2021), LG Velvet 4G (Q4 2021), LG G8S (Q4 2021), LG Wing (Q4 2021), LG K52 (Q4 2021), and LG K42 (Q4 2021).

The LG Velvet 5G has already received Android 11, however. Other LG phones that will get Android 11, but with no rollout timeline, include LG V50, V50S, Q31, Q51, Q52, Q61, Q70, Q92, and Q9 One.

Android 12 and Android 13

LG phones eligible for Android 12 include LG Wing, Velvet, Velvet LTE, V50s, V50, G8, Q31, Q52, and Q92.

Out of these, LG will roll out Android 13 to the LG Wing, Velvet, and Velvet LTE, according to the company’s Korean website(via KBench).

Of course, the global rollout schedules and even update plans may not match these timelines. Notably, the LG Stylo and K series were said to receive a maximum of two OS updates but lack in both the company’s Korean and German websites.
