Apple’s next annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) will be held in June, the company said. The event will be an online-only event that will kick off June 7 through 11. It will be accessible for free, like WWDC 2020.
The company typically announces the subsequent major iterations of its operating systems from iOS to iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, and tvOS.
WWDC events are a chance for the company to reveal what’s coming on its platforms, including new technologies, tools, and frameworks to help developers prepare their apps for the next jump.
“We are working to make WWDC21 our biggest and best yet, and are excited to offer Apple developers new tools to support them as they create apps that change the way we live, work, and play,” Susan Prescott, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Developer Relations and Enterprise and Education Marketing said.
WWDC 2021 event will include online sessions, 1:1 labs offering technical guidance plus keynotes and allow Apple’s community of developers to interact with engineers.
Young iOS developers will also be given a chance to demonstrate their coding skills in this year’s Swift Student Challenge. Submissions for the challenge are ongoing and will be open through April 18.
