Xiaomi Mi Band 6 Launched with Slightly Bigger Display and Additional Tracking Features

xiaomi Mi Band 6 Renders

Xiaomi is making a dent in the wearables market, and much of that success is attributed to its famous Mi Band series. The Mi Band series has consistently attracted critical acclaim across the industry thanks to its feature proposition, paired with an accessible price.

After last year’s Mi Band 5, Xiaomi is back with yet another iteration of the Mi Band series, the Mi Band 6.

The Mi Band 6 is slightly bigger, now with a 1.56-inch AMOLED display compared to the 1.1-inch AMOLED panel found on the Mi Band 5.

That 2.5D display panel now packs 152×486 pixels in resolution and 326 PPI(pixels per inch). The maximum display brightness is 450 nits brightness. It has upgraded internal smarts, including a new built-in GPS sensor and blood oxygen sensors – a staple feature in budget bands these days.

The interface has been revamped to include dozens of new watch faces with several UI changes to show more information. What’s not changing, however, is the 14-day battery life promise for the NFC version and the 20-day runtime for the global version with no NFC. The silicone strap remains as well, now in Black, Orange, Yellow, Olive, Ivory, and Blue.

Xiaomi Mi Band 6 has 30 different workout modes tucked inside – a far cry from the previous six available on the Mi Band 5.

The Mi Band 6 can measure blood oxygen levels, sleep, Breath exercise, Stress monitoring, Female health tracking, PAI(Personal Activity Intelligence) and heart rate.

Like the Mi Band 5, the latest iteration works across iOS and Android.

Xiaomi Mi Band 6 Price

Xiaomi Mi Band 6 is available in two models, one with NFC and the other without. The NFC version is China-exclusive, and costs a little bit more than the standard Mi Band 6.

The standard Mi Band 6 costs about $35, while the NFC model is up for grabs at around $42 for the NFC model in the company’s home market. The same band costs about €44.99 in Europe. Local pricing is still unknown, but we expect Xiaomi Kenya to introduce the new fitness band in the country sooner, if not later.
