Huawei has started rolling out its latest custom ROM, EMUI 11, to the P30 and Mate 20 family of devices. The latest ROM update is in line with the company’s update schedule revealed in November 2020.
However, the big thing to note is that EMUI 11 coming to the P30, P30 Pro, and Mate 20 series is based on Android 10 and not the latest Android 11.
The update is still limited to select users, so it might be some time before you can see it on your end. Huawei planned to roll out the update to these devices in this first quarter of the year, so it might be sooner than you think.
To check if the update is available on your phone, go to Settings > System & updates > Software update and tap Check for updates.
EMUI 11 update weighs 1.8GB, and with it comes a slew of new features to the P30 and Mate 20 series phones.
Key EMUI 11 features include a smart always-on display, a multi-window that improves multitasking by allowing you to open apps in a floating window, and multi-screen collaboration – another multi-tasking feature that displays multiple phone apps simultaneously on your PC.
EMUI 11 also adds other subtle changes like new smooth UI animations, privacy-related features, improved performance, several artistic themes, etc.
