After Qualcomm launched its latest high-end chip in December, few companies have utilized the chip in their devices. To date, only a handful of companies. Among the few is Xiaomi in its Mi 11 series.
Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi is also prepping to launch its first-ever Snapdragon 888-powered device. The brand will utilize the chip in its upcoming Redmi K40 series, a follow-up to its high-end mid-range K-series phones.
Redmi General Manager, Lu Weibing, took on Weibo about the upcoming device, revealing some of its key specs. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 SoC will be at the helm. And other device features will include a larger-than 4000mAh battery and “probably the most expensive straight screen,” according to Weibing.
The company will continue its impressive money to value promise with the Redmi K40 series. According to Lu, the Redmi K40 series pricing will begin at about $463, around Ksh 48,000.
