Apple Reveals Top Apps and Games of 2020

2020 is coming to an end, and as usual, Apple has announced its best apps of the year, which it says proved to be essential for making life easier, healthier, and more connected this year.

These apps ticked all boxes from being innovative and are well designed with amazing user experiences.

“This year, more than ever before, some of our most creative and connected moments happened in apps. This was thanks to the amazing work of developers who introduced fresh, helpful app experiences throughout the year,” said Phil Schiller, an Apple Fellow

Here are the most outstanding apps on different platforms;

  • Mac App of the Year: Fantastical, developed by Flexibits.
  • Apple TV App of the Year: Disney+.
  • Apple Watch App of the Year: Endel.
  • iPhone App of the Year: Wakeout!, developed by Andres Canella.

Best Games of 2020

Genshin Impact emerged as the app of the year on the iPhone, while Legends of Runeterra took the mantle on the iPad. Disco Elysium was the game of the year on the Mac and Dandara Trials of Fear on Apple TV Plus. On Apple Arcade, the Game of the Year award goes to Sneaky Sasquatch.

To honor the best apps, Apple, for the first time, created a physical App Store Best of 2020 award, as shown in the featured image above. The App Store icon directly inspires it. Check the top-grossing apps and games of 2019.
