The realme 7i was launched in Kenya last week together with the realme C12. These are the latest from the company to launch in Kenya and they join some other devices the company brought to the country this year. Realme has been in Kenya for a few months and it is interesting to see the brand grow its portfolio this aggressively.
I have been using the realme 7i since it was launched and I am currently working on the full review that should be up later in the week. So far, I love the experience but before I get to the full review, I thought I should just highlight some of the things you need to know about this phone.

Price
The price is one of the key things everyone wants to know when looking at a new smartphone. The realme 7i is available for Ksh 24,999. At this price, it should be competing with the Huawei Y8p, Redmi Note 9 Pro, Infinix Note 8 among others.
64mp Main Camera
The realme 7i comes with a quad camera setup at the back but the main sensor is the 64MP one. From the shots I have taken with this camera, it is quite good. It does rival some of the other smartphones within the same price range as you are getting detailed shots that are bright and vibrant.
The back camera can record 1080p videos at 30 frames per second.
Quad Camera Setup
As I have mentioned above, the realme 7i has a quad camera setup at the back. This is made of the main 64MP sensor that I have already mentioned together with an 8MP ultrawide angle lens, 2MP macro lens and another 2MP depth sensor. All these work together to give you one of the best photography experiences on a smartphone within this price.
5000 mAh Battery
No one has the time to charge their smartphone every so often. Realme understands this and that is what the company has included a 5,000 mAh battery on this phone. With this, getting the phone to last an entire day on a single charge is easy and in most cases I could get it to last for up to 2 days without any issues.

The realme 7i supports 18W fast charging that may not be the fastest out there but is fast enough to give you a few hours of use with just a few minutes of charging.
Snapdragon 662 Processor
The realme 7i is powered by the Snapdragon 662 processor that during the review period has not disappointed me. It does handle all tasks with ease and I have not had any major performance issue so far. Seeing a Snapdragon processor on this phone is refreshing from the MediaTek CPUs we see on most smartphones it is competing with.
Up To 8GB of RAM
Still on performance, the realme 7i is available in different configurations with one having up to 8GB of RAM. This is the variant I have and such big RAM helps with multitasking and smooth day to day running of the phone without it slowing down. There is a 4GB variant available at a lower price.
720P Display

This is disappointing as I was expecting at least 1080p resolution on a smartphone within its price range. The display is still good but considering its size (6.5 inches), a higher resolution would have been much better to be honest.
