HMD Global Launches the Nokia 2.4 in Kenya

Nokia 2.4

HMD Global has today announced the availability of the Nokia 2.4 in Kenya. This phone was unveiled to a global audience not so long ago and is now available in retail stores in Kenya starting from Ksh 13,799 for the 2GB RAM variant and 32GB of storage space and Ksh 15,500 for the 3GB RAM variant with 64GB of space.

The Nokia 2.4 comes with a 6.5-inch HD+ display with a resolution of 1,600 x 720 pixels. It has a waterdrop notch at the top centre of the display.

Powering this phone is the MediaTek Helio P22 processor paired with either 2GB or 3GB of RAM. The 2GB variant has 32GB of storage space while the 3GB variant has 64GB of space. Both variants come with Android 10 out of the box and are scheduled to get Android 11 later this year.

Just like most other recent Nokia smartphones, the Nokia 2.4 has a dedicated Google Assistant button and a physical fingerprint scanner.

Speaking during the announcement, Gopher Ogembo, Senior Business Manager, HMD Global said “The Nokia 2.4 continues to exceed expectations when it comes to what a phone within this segment can provide. We’ve included high-end features like the AI camera with Night mode and Portrait mode. The large screen makes for a more immersive visual experience, and for added security, a biometric fingerprint sensor is included, which is a first for the series. All of this wrapped up in a timeless Finnish design that’s reflected in the Nokia 2.4 colour palette – introducing Dusk to the range – a light, dusty shade of purple that is inspired by Nordic nature,” he said.

“During this uncertain time, an increasing number of people are becoming reliant on their devices, so we are doing what we do best by bringing products you can be proud of at a great value that are packed full of innovation, and wrapped in a stunning Nordic design. It’s important to us to make technology accessible to all and to push the boundaries with every device we create,” Mr Ogembo concluded.

For the cameras, it does have a dual setup at the back made up of a 13MP main sensor and a 2MP depth sensor. A 5MPselfie  camera is housed in the waterdrop notch. The Nokia 2.4 comes with a 4,500 mAh battery that should be enough for most people to last the entire day.
