A few months ago, Twitter released a new feature for the feed that would allow people to send audio messages as tweets. This may be seen as the perfect way for some people to communicate what they really want in a fast and easier way.
Twitter is expanding this and will soon roll out voice messages for DMs. Just like voice tweets, users will be free to send audio messages to their friends through Twitter DMs. This was the natural way for this feature to progress as voice messaging is an option available in most other messaging services.
Twitter voice messages will be simple and straight forward to use. When you are in a DM with someone, you can tap the right part of the text box to start recording the voice message. You can then preview your message before sending it. You can also stop the recording in the middle and not send it if you happen to change your mind.
The receiver will receive the voice message and they can play or pause it and if it is inappropriate, they have the power to “report” it.
The feature is currently being tested in Brazil and its expected global roll out should happen once testing is complete.
