EMUI 11 Based on Android 11 Launched: Everything You Need To Know

As expected, Huawei yesterday unveiled the new iteration of EMUI, EMUI 11, based on open-source Android 11.  Huawei boasts its continuous research in human-factors based design will deliver the best UX experience on EMUI.

It includes fully customizable Always-on display with immersive art designs. A couple of Always-on display styles are also animated.

EMUI 11 also incorporates smooth animations, gesture navigations, and harmonized vibrations and ringtones.

The new iteration of EMUI also offers smart multi-window support, with floating windows and task heads, and enhanced multi-screen collaboration. On the former, EMUI 11 lets you customize the floating window size. And there’s no limit to the window resizing.

A window can be resized until it turns into a little floating bubble icon that can be easily moved around on the screen. Tapping the floating bubble icon will open the window up again.

Multi-screen collaboration, called Huawei Share, has been drastically improved, too. Typically, Huawei Share lets you control your phone from a Huawei laptop.

The updated Huawei Share app lets you run multiple phone apps – up to three – from your Huawei laptop. File transfer between your laptop and your phone has never been faster, thanks to the new drag-and-drop functionality inside Huawei Share.

You can also use your smartphone as a webcam by sharing your video calling screen on PC.

Another critical area focused by Huawei on EMUI this year is privacy. Like Android 11, the new version of EMUI gives privacy equal priority.
