The Tecno Pouvoir 4 was launched in Kenya not so long ago and those interested can get it in the country for Ksh 14,000. We don’t see Tecno market the Pouvoir series as much as it does some of its other devices and that is changing this year. This is an entry level series but the company is keen to see this phone reach as many people as possible.
The Tecno Pouvoir 4 has a few interesting specifications but its 6,000 mAh battery is probably the one that will get the attention of most people. We are just getting used to 5,000 mAh batteries and now smartphone manufacturers are introducing us to even bigger batteries. Having such a big battery on an affordable smartphone with entry level specifications will guarantee at least 2 days of use for most people. This can be more depending on how you use your phone.

Tecno Pouvoir 4 First Impressions
The one thing that I noticed with the Tecno Pouvoir 4 is its close resemblance to the Tecno Spark 5 that I used a few weeks back. It looks like Tecno did not change that much on the design department. The quad camera setup placement is the same as we had on the Spark 5.
Speaking of the cameras, we have the standard 13MP sensor that is supported with a 2MP macro lens, 2MP depth sensor and another 2MP sensor that I am not sure what exactly it does. We keep seeing this configuration on most smartphones these days and to be honest it is uninspiring. It is exactly what every manufacturer is doing and the addition of the macro lens is next to useless considering it is a 2MP one that does not do much. I would gladly do without one unless we start having one with a high megapixel count. Manufactures are rushing to having a quad camera setup for the sake of it and this is getting boring.
The shots you get with this camera are decent enough and you do get quad LED flash if you want to take better shots when the lighting is not so good. Still on the back is where we find the fingerprint scanner that works perfectly and the Tecno and Pouvoir branding.
On the right side are the volume and power buttons that are tactile and easy to reach. On the left side we get the SIM tray that can accommodate two micro SIM cards and a MicroSD card at the same time. Below that is the dedicated Google Assistant button that as far as I know you cannot reprogram to do anything else. If you use Google assistant on a regular basis, this may be something to get you excited.
The earphone jack, Micro USB port and speaker grilles are at the base together with the microphone.
Flipping the phone to the display you get to see the 7-inch screen that Tecno is using. This is a 720p display which to be honest is a bit disappointing for a display of this size. Even with that said, the display is good, gets bright enough for use outdoor under direct sunlight. It is very responsive and colour reproduction is on point.
Above the display is the notch that does not take so much space and honestly will not bother you considering the size of the display. The selfie camera housed in the notch is an 8MP one that is ok but don’t expect a lot from it.
For internals, the Tecno Pouvoir 4 is powered by the 2.0 GHz MediTek Helio A22 processor configured with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage space. The phone comes with Android 10 with HiOS 6.1 on top. I will test out real world performance and share my experience in the full review.
