Facebook has released yet another app that this time will rival one of the popular platforms right now, TikTok. This latest app is called Collab and is a music creation application that lets people create, watch, mix and match original videos. This is similar to what TikTok is to some extent.
Through this app, users will be able to create 3 independent videos that will play in sync and end up creating a new musical recording. To do this, users can add their own recording or by scrolling through the app to find an arrangement to complete their own composition.
Facebook was clear that no musical experience is required to use the app so anyone is free to join.
When the ‘collab’ is created, users will be able to publish it on the app so that others can watch and hopefully use in their own creations. Those who wish to will be able to share Collabs in other applications like Instagram, Facebook Stories among others.
Collab is currently being tested as an invite-only beta for iOS for users in the US and Canada. The company is said to have accelerated its development due to the current pandemic to take advantage of the stay at home orders issued in many countries.
