Google will officially unveil the next version of Android, Android 11, on June 3, the company said on Wednesday. The event will be held online and will kick off at 06:00 PM local time (GMT+3).
Typically, the software giant usually holds its events at annual Google I/O meetings which had to be canceled this year due to the covid-19 outbreak.
The event will feature addresses from various executives at Google’s Android division like Dave Burke, Android’s vice president of engineering. Announcing the official launch date, Google will give more details on new features coming in the next android version to the end consumer.
Developers will also be updated on how the new Android iteration will help them get the most out of modern Android development.
Keep in mind that the company has already previewed some of the upcoming features to developers earlier in February.
Some of the already known features coming in Android 11 include a dedicated notification shade, one-time app permission to vital location, microphone, and camera data.
Android 11 also takes a big leap to support new emerging technologies like 5G, waterfall displays, and folding phones. Another nifty upgrade is the ability to block those annoying robocall spams. You can read more about the features spotted in the Android 11 developer preview here.
