HMD Global has been busy pushing out Android 10 to most of its smartphones. We have seen the update roll out to the flagship Nokia 9 PureView and even on the entry level Nokia 2.3. The company’s commitment to devices in different price segments is impressive and not something we see often from most manufacturers.
The latest device by the company to get this update is the Nokia 1 Plus. This phone was released back in February 2019 with Android 9 Pie (Go Edition). It is a Go Edition phone with a tweaked version of Android that is meant for devices with low end hardware.
With Android 10 (Go Edition) for the Nokia 1 Plus, HMD Global promises an “elevated Android experience”. Thanks to the many features it comes with, the Nokia 1 Plus will feel “brand new all over again” according to Juho Sarvikas, the company’s Chief Product Officer.
This update will first roll out to select countries including Bahrain, Bangladesh, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Malaysia, Morocco, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka, Tunisia, the UAE, and Yemen. 10% of the devices in these countries will be the update today and 50% by May 2 while 100% by May 4.
After the first wave, this update will roll out to other areas across the globe.
