Nokia is finally rolling out Android 10 update to its budget-oriented Nokia 2.2 smartphone which was launched in 2019. The phone features a 5.71in IPS LCD display, a quad-core processor from MediaTek and is powered by a 3,000mAh battery.
Out-of-the-box, the Nokia 2.2 shipped with Android 9.0 Pie, at the time, the latest Android update in the public. Nokia has preached a mantra of providing updates for two years, and its entry-level devices are no exception. For Nokia 2.2, that doesn’t change at all.
Announcing the news recently, HMD’s executive who is fond of providing every update on the company’s Nokia brand said, “All performance-enhancing features are now available.”
The update ships with Google’s February Android security patch. Other features include the usual Android 10 perks including the popular system-wide dark mode, privacy enhancement features, gesture navigation, smart replies, just to name a few.
After this update, the remaining devices will be updated based on the updated timeline which was released barely a week ago by the company. The next devices in the line include Nokia 2.3, 3.2, 4.2, 7.2, 6.2, 3.1 plus, and Nokia 8 Sirocco. These batch will be updated between Q1 and Q2.
