Huawei App Gallery to Offer Developers 100% of the Revenue For Limited Time

Huawei App Gallery

Huawei’s App Gallery has a long way to go if it is to catch up with rivals including the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. It is extremely difficult to get people to use a new app store as you need it to have all the apps they need and for that you have to convince developers to publish their apps on the store.

Huawei has been trying to get developers to publish they applications on its platform as the US government ban affects its core business. The company is still trying to get some of the popular apps on its platform and it says that will be happening soon.

One of the ways the company hopes to attract developers to its platform is to have more attractive revenue sharing options. The company plans to address this in the Preferential Policy of the AppGallery Service Agreement. This policy is valid for 24 months and to be part of this, developers need to join before June 30, 2020.

The policy is divided into two periods, the first 12 months will see developers get 100% of the revenue generated by non-gaming apps. For game developers, they will get 85% of the revenue generated.

During the second year, there will be slight changes with gaming and non-educational app developers getting 85% of the revenue generated. Educational apps get 90% of the generated revenue.

After the preferential policy period ends, developers will get 70% of the revenue while Huawei Keeps 30%.
