A few week ago, the beta version of WhatsApp for Android got dark mode support. This is a much-anticipated feature but when released, it was only available for Android. We knew it was to land on iOS at some point but we were just never sure when that was going to happen.
Some users taking part in WhatsApp’s TestFlight beta program have seen the feature in the most recent testing notes according to MacRumors. With this, the feature should be rolling out to iOS users very soon.
At this point, it is still unknown when dark mode will be available on the official WhatsApp for iOS app. It should not take long though and you should see it on your end very soon if you have an iOS device.
Enabling dark mode on WhatsApp for iOS should not be difficult. For those on Android, the process is quick and fast requiring only 3 steps as you can see below.
- Make sure you have version 2.20.13
- Open WhatsApp and Navigate to the Settings Section
- Tap on the ‘Chats’ section and then Theme and you will be presented with three options including Set by Battery saver, Light and Dark themes.
I expect the steps to be similar when the option is available on iOS.
