In a move to bring the perfect all-screen phone, Xiaomi became the first company to announce an almost perfect, if not ideal, illustration of this concept with the Mi Mix Alpha. To say that this was the perfect full-screen phone is undoubtedly an understatement.
The Mi Mix Alpha had a screen that wraps around the phone, extending all the way to the back of the device. That made the phone deliver a never-been-seen before screen-to-body ratio of over 100% – to be specific, 180.6%.
The futuristic phone was announced in September 2019 and was supposed to hit the shelves come December last year. However, the company has come clean, saying that the launch has been delayed indefinitely.
Xiaomi reportedly listed the phone in their online store, but they didn’t offer a pre-ordering or purchase option.
The company promised they would make the device in limited quantities to avoid the many potential problems that could befall a futuristic device like the Mi Mix Alpha considering the amount its wrap-around display.
Apart from the ground-breaking technology, the phone was the first on the market to feature Samsung’s 108MP camera lens. Other hardware specs included 12GB of RAM, 512GB ROM, 4050mAh, and a 6.4-inch display.
