Oppo has officially unveiled Reno 3 series devices. The first in line are two different devices – the Reno 3 and Reno 3 Pro.

    Oppo Reno 3

The Oppo Reno 3 sports a quite familiar design that is similar to most devices on the market. You get a dewdrop notch and gradient colors, a common feature to Reno devices. It comes with a 6.4-inch FHD+ AMOLED display and is the first phone shipping with MediaTek’s Dimensity 1000L chipset, under the hood.

You have two variants to choose from here. Either an 8GB model or a 12GB model paired with 128GB of internal storage. The display features the mighty 60Hz smooth refresh rate. The phone is powered by a large 4025mAh battery which supports 30W VOOC Flash Charge.

On the photography front is a 32-megapixel selfie camera housed in the dewdrop notch. The back of the device sports four different camera lenses. The primary camera is a 64MP snapper aided with an 8MP secondary lens. Along with the two are a monochrome sensor and a portrait lens.

    Oppo Reno 3 Pro

Coming with the Pro moniker, the Oppo Reno 3 Pro offers jaw-dropping specs at its price range. Under the hood is Qualcomm’s brand-new Snapdragon 765G chipset aided with either 8GB or 12GB of RAM. The Reno 3 Pro ships with either 128GB or 256GB of onboard UFS 2.1 storage. It also comes with a 4,025mAh battery that includes a 30W VOOC flash charge.

Unlike the standard model, the Oppo Reno 3 Pro has a slightly bigger display measuring 6.5-inches and has a smoother 90Hz refresh rate. At the back is a quad-camera setup made up of a 48-megapixel primary sensor, a 13-megapixel 5x hybrid zoom lens, 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, and 2-megapixel monochrome sensor.

The selfie camera is still a 32-megapixel sensor, which is similar to what you get on the Oppo Reno 3. The pro version has a quite different design from the standard version. The Oppo Reno 3 Pro has a punch-hole notch in the upper-left side of the display. The display has a curvature unlike the flat display on the standard Reno 3.

Both devices are 5G ready, plus, they also ship with Oppo’s own ColorOS 7 based on Android 10. Oh, and there’s Dolby Atmos stereo speakers.

For the pricing, the Oppo Reno 3 goes for ¥3,399 (~$485), while the Pro version starts at ¥3,699 (~$600). The phone will begin shipping as of December 31st in China. The company, announcing the new devices, said we should “stay tuned” for international releases.
