It is that day of the month when Xiaomi had planned to launch a successor to the Redmi K20 series in China.  Apart from the Redmi K30, Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi also announced a Redmi AC2100 Router, a RedmiBook 13 laptop, and a Redmi smart speaker.

The Xiaomi Redmi K30 sports a 6.67-inch LCD display with Full-HD+ (1080×2400 pixels) resolution and boasts a 120Hz refresh rate. The phone comes with a 20:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 765G processor that comes with an integrated 5G modem.

The Redmi K30 is sandwiched with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 for protection. The phone has a quad-camera setup on the back composed of a 64MP Sony IMX686 primary lens, a 2MP lens, a 5MP sensor, and an 8MP camera lens.

On the front of the device is a dual-camera setup housed in a punch-hole oval-shaped cutout. The primary selfie camera is a 20MP lens assisted by a 2MP sensor for depth sensing. On photography, the Redmi K30 boasts the AI features, which is a common feature in smartphones these days.

Like its predecessor, you also get a USB type C port with fast charging support. For the Redmi K30, it supports up to 30W fast charging technology that will help fill the massive 4500mAh battery.

The phone ships with MIUI 11 based on Android 10 out of the box.

In China, the Redmi K30 5G is priced at 1,999 Yuan (approx. $284.05) at the lowest for the 6GB RAM and 64GB storage model. The 6GB + 128GB model goes for 2,299 Yuan (~$327). The high-end model ships with 8GB of RAM and goes for 2,599 Yuan (~$370) with 128GB of ROM or 2899 Yuan (~$412) for 256GB of ROM model.

For the 4G variant, the lower variant is priced at 1599 Yuan (~$227), 1699 Yuan (~$241) for 6GB/128GB model, 1899 Yuan (~$270) for the 8GB/128GB model, and 2199 Yuan (~$312) for the 8GB/256GB model which is the highest variant.

All models support microSD cards so you can expand the storage, unlike in the Redmi K20 Pro or the MI 9T Pro. The Redmi K30 4G is available in three colors, Red, Blue, and purple, but the 5G variant has an additional white color model.

Currently, there is no word on the availability of this device on the global market.
