WhatsApp is the next app that is ready to jump into the dark side. According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is working on a dark mode feature for its Android app.
Dark Mode has been spotted on the latest beta version of WhatsApp (version 2.19.282). This is the version of WhatsApp you need to see this feature at the moment if you want to be among the first people to try it out.
When it is fully implemented, Dark Mode on WhatsApp will be accessed through the WhatsApp Settings menu. From there, you will see a new section dubbed ‘Theme Settings’. From this new Theme Settings menu, you will be able to choose between three different options including a Light Theme, Dark Them or just stick with the System Default.
If you want the standard WhatsApp colour scheme as is right now, the Light Theme is perfect for you. The Dark Theme adds blue and black night colours to the application.
As for the System Default theme, it is exactly what the name suggests, it will automatically adapt to the theme that is being used by your Android operating system. This sounds like the better option as you will not have to keep changing the Settings every so often.
As this feature is still in the beta version of the app, it is still under development and we do not have an exact date as when it will roll out to all users.
