HMD is already keeping it to their words. As promised one day after the official rollout of Android 10, Nokia has begun pushing Android 10 via OTA update to the Nokia 8.1 devices.
This is no surprise, to be honest. The Nokia 8.1 was in Google’s Android 10 beta program, and it should have even received the update earlier, considering they had all the time to test the software compatibility with this device.
Like the rest of the features expected in Android 10, the Nokia 8.1 is no different. The update tags along with system-wide dark mode, a new gesture navigation system, security, and privacy overhauls, and the smart gestures and reply functionality.
The update is around one and a half Gigabyte (1.5GB) so you might as well consider using WIFI to download the update.
Although the rollout has begun today, it is not surprising that you might not yet be having the update available on your side. However, you can check-in after some time for the same.
To check for software updates, follow these steps;
- Navigate to your Settings app
- Click on System then Advanced and
- tap on the system update button.
- Tap on the Check for system update button
