HP can’t seem to get enough of their best-selling laptop so far – HP Spectre x360. HP Spectre x360 has been the company’s flagship featuring a 360-degree convertible tuff. The new version of the Spectre x360 is by far no different from its predecessor’s exteriorly except for few cases. The Spectre x360 model is now 13% smaller, has minimal bezels with the top display presented in a 90% screen-to-body ratio.
The new model is also security-focused featuring a kill switch on the side, which cuts power to the webcam. On the internals, HP Spectre x360 runs on Intel’s latest 10th generation Core i5 and Core i7 processors. The laptop now supports the latest fast WIFI standard (WIFI 6), and the LTE modem now supports Cat 16 which brings faster speeds.
What we can say is the massive upgrade is the inclusion of a 4K AMOLED display with brightness up to 400nits. In 2019’s Spectre x360, editing of videos should feel better than in last year’s x360. Considering the new Spectre has HP’s new Display Control feature which helps you tweak the OLED to produce more accurate colors, you can switch between three different color gamuts i.e., DCI-P3, sRGB, and Adobe RGB.
HP says the 4K display supports VESA’s new True Black HDR and is equipped with anti-reflection coating for more comfortable usability outdoors.
On battery life, HP claims the new x360 convertible laptop offers about 22 hours screen on time.
The new laptop comes in a “Natural Silver”, a snazzy black-and-copper color scheme and Poseidon Blue color variants. On availability, the company says the new laptop will ship this October starting at $1,099 for the base model (Core i5-1035G1 processor, full HD LED screen, 8GB LPDDR4 RAM and 256GB SATA SSD).
While the most expensive model which is $400 more gets you Intel’s Core i7-1065G7 processor paired with 16GB RAM and 512GB NVMe SSD storage plus the mighty 4K AMOLED display.
