HTC has faced a rough time in the smartphone industry despite them being a pioneer in this sector having launched one of the first Android-powered devices.

Not so long ago, the company experienced patent rows with IPCom, a German research and development company over a wireless technology developed for car phones.

Despite the agreement reached by the two sides via a court ruling, IPCom now alleges HTC did not “play by the rules” which is seen as a “disregard for the law by contravening a UK court ruling.”

The company had agreed only to sell devices which do not violate IPCom’s patent filings in the UK. In response to the matter, HTC told the BBC, “We are proactively investigating an infringement claim by a third party with respect to a single handset model.”

HTC has gone forward listing all of its devices as out of stock in their UK website despite them being available in other parts of the world.
