Samsung Galaxy A50, a new device in the revamped Galaxy-A series, has been reported to receive an OTA update over the weekend. Although the update has majorly focused on India, we are yet to see an update rollout to other parts of the world too.
The OTA update comes along with some revamped security update for Samsung Knox – Samsung’s device security feature. Majorly in the update, Samsung Galaxy A50 users will have the chance to enjoy new camera features including night mode and super slow-motion video recording capability.
Alongside the new A505FDDU2ASF2 firmware, are the usual bug fixes and also the June security patch. Besides with the latest update, the device can now scan QR codes straight from the camera without Bixby Vision – a feature that has already been patched in the Samsung Galaxy S9 and the recently released Galaxy S10.
In case the new camera features don’t show up, you have to reset the camera app after the update. You can do via the Settings app by clearing all the caches/settings for the camera app or by choosing the reset option inside the camera app.
However if you haven’t received the update yet, ensure to check out System Update in the Phone settings app and tap on check for new updates.
