WhatsApp Is Cracking Down On ‘GB WhatsApp’ and ‘WhatsApp Plus’ Users

A few months ago Facebook-owned instant messaging app WhatsApp started cracking down on users with GB WhatsApp and WhatsApp Plus mods. This comes a few weeks after the company announced its plans to take legal action against spammers on the platform. WhatsApp Mods offer increased functionality over the official app, which is the major attraction point that many users opt for mods over the original app.

GB WhatsApp and WhatsApp Plus are the two most popular WhatsApp mods. Back in April WhatsApp started threatening users by temporarily banning them citing a violation of their Terms of Service so that they can switch to the official app.

But recently WhatsApp has gone ahead to temporarily ban users. Multiple people have already reported being banned. See that’s how serious it gets.

Before permanently banning a user, WhatsApp first bans a user temporarily for a short period like minutes or hours, but continued use of the modified app finally makes you legible for a permanent ban. In a blog post, WhatsApp states that the use of third-party apps violate their Terms of Service, and they won’t support the apps since they “can’t validate their security practices.” “If you don’t switch to the official app after being temporarily banned, your account might be permanently banned from using WhatsApp.” the blog post read.
