The Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 With A Pop-Up Selfie Camera Surfaces

Huawei Y9 Prime 2019

Huawei has been busy the last 6 months releasing a new smartphone every other month. The company has particularly been busy and visible in Kenya with the heavy marketing it has been doing in the country. Most of the devices that it has been marketing heavily are less than Ksh 30,000 and tend to offer way more features than their competitors.

The Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 is one other smartphone we are expecting to see from the company very soon. This should not be confused with the Y9 Prime that we reviewed late last year. This is a new one and one big difference with it is the inclusion of a pop-up selfie camera.

We saw the Huawei P Smart Z with a pop-up selfie camera and now we know that this will be the same camera design on the Huawei Y9 Prime 2019. The big difference between the two is that the Y9 Prime 2019 will have an additional camera at the back.

Since the trend right now is to include three cameras on the back, Huawei will have a 2MP depth sensor, a 16MP main sensor and an 8MP wide angle sensor on the Y9 Prime 2019. This is different from the P Smart Z that has a dual camera setup made up of a 16MP and 2MP sensor.

Some of the other features of the Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 are highlighted below.

Display Size: 6.59 inches with a resolution of 2340×1080 Pixels

Processor: Hisilicon Kirin 710

RAM: 4GB

Storage Space: 128 GB

GPU: Mali-G51 MP4

Android Version: Android 9.0 Oreo with EMUI 9.1

Main Camera: Triple 16MP + 8MP + 2MP

Selfie Camera: 16MP

Battery: 4000 mAh battery

At this point, we do not know when the Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 will be unveiled but we will update with that information when we have it.
