Late last year, TECNO launched its latest camera-centric devices, the Camon 11 and Camon 11 Pro. Both phones had two SIM slots and this meant that they were not sold through Safaricom retail shops. The smartphone market has changed over the years But Safaricom is still a key player in the smartphone retail space selling thousands of devices every year.
For TECNO, selling the Camon 11 through Safaricom retail shops is strategic as it will be able to target those who still prefer buying their devices through Safaricom. Infinix has done this and most recently it did so with the Infinix Hot S3 that was exclusively available through Safaricom shops when it first launched in Kenya.
As for the price, the TECNO Camon 11 is available for Ksh 15,999, 1,000 bob higher than the price TECNO announced when it unveiled the phone in the country last year. This is not strange as we have seen Safaricom do this with most other devices it sells.
The TECNO Camon 11 you get through Safaricom is the single SIM variant and all the other specifications are exactly the same as the ones on the dual-SIM variant. Since it is now available through Safaricom shops, it should also be available on Masoko very soon.
