If you own the Nokia 6.1, you should be happy to know that you can update your phone with Android 9.0 Pie. This does not come as a surprise as HMD Global promised an Android Pie OTA update for the Nokia 6.1 and Nokia 6.1 Plus last month.
The update is rolling out to some users and started a couple of days back so you should be getting the notification if you have the Nokia 6.1. The new Nokia smartphones by HMD Global come with a pure version of Android and will always get the latest updates before most other smartphones on the market. HMD does not have to tweak the OS so much before pushing out the update as is the case with most Android smartphones.
Android Pie for the Nokia 6.1 is 1,462 MB (approximately 1.5GB) in size and brings with it all the new features Google announced back in August. With the update, you will get Adaptive Battery optimization, Adaptive and optimized brightness levels, Android’s new gesture-based navigation system, new camera optimizations and UI and many more features.
The update is currently available for the Nokia 6.1, for those with the Nokia 6.1 Plus, you are scheduled to get the update this month. Android Pie has also been rolled out to the Nokia 7 Plus and I expect it to roll out to the Nokia 8 and Nokia 8 Sirocco this month too.
