A couple of days back, Huawei unveiled its latest flagship family, the P20 series. The company was very vocal about this device as it was expected and made sure everyone knows it exists.
Fast forward a couple of days later and the company is back with another smartphone, the Huawei Y7 Prime 2018. The company has quietly unveiled this device without the pomp and colour we saw a couple of days back. The Huawei Y7 Prime 2018 is a mid-range smartphone that borrows a few things from the company’s current flagships, the Huawei P20 and P20 Pro.
To keep up with the trends, Huawei has included a dual camera setup on the Y7 Prim 2018 and has ensured it has the modern 18:9 display. This display is a 6 inch one with a resolution of 720 x 1440 pixels, not the best out there but this will do.
As for the dual camera setup, the main one is a 12MP unit while the secondary one is a 2MP one. The front facing camera is an 8MP one which does not sound that bad. The 2MP secondary camera at the back is there to help with measuring depth for those who want their shots with blurred backgrounds.
Powering the Huawei Y7 Prime 2018 is the Snapdragon 430 processor used together with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage space as standard. If this is not enough for you, you can expand it using a MicroSD card. This phone comes with Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box with EMUI 8.0 on top.
The battery of the Y7 Prime 2018 is a 4000 mAh unit, an upgrade from the 3000 mAh battery we got on the Huawei Y7 from 2017.
The price of the Y7 Prime 2018 is yet to be confirmed but we will know that very soon.
