Even though WhatsApp is the most popular messaging platform out there, the guys over at Telegram have never give up on their product. The company has rolled out a number of improvements to its platform over the years as it tries to attract those who want an alternative messaging platform with better privacy features.

It looks like the improvements Telegram has been implementing are finally paying off. The company is reporting that within the last 30 days, over 200 million people have used its platform. This is an impressive milestone for the company.

In a statement, the company said, “Above all, we at Telegram believe in people. We believe that humans are inherently intelligent and benevolent beings that deserve to be trusted; trusted with freedom to share their thoughts, freedom to communicate privately, freedom to create tools. This philosophy defines everything we do.”

Updates for Telegram for Android and iOS

The milestone aside, Telegram has announced that it has rolled out updates for both the iOS and Android apps. The company says this update is meant to improve the way users can discover new stickers. To take advantage of this, just scroll up in the sticker panel and you will find the new search field that this update adds.

The update also makes it easy to send multiple pictures to someone as well as receive more than one photo from your contacts. Telegram for iOS now has a new Auto-Night Mode with the update. With this, users can set the dark version of the app to automatically switch on at certain times. This feature has been available on Telegram for Android and is finally rolling out to IOS users.

In addition to the changes mentioned above, iOS users will now have support for text formatting in media captions as well as the ability to report individual messages in public entities. Lastly, Telegram says that the update optimizes both its Android and iOS apps to consume less battery.
