Google Chrome for Android is changing for the better with the latest update. Google has been testing Chrome 58 through its beta channel and is finally ready to push out the stable version to all users.
Chrome 58 on the Play Store is just a minor update and does not bring with it mind blowing features to mobile users. The main aim of Chrome 58 is to fix some stability and performance issues the previous version had.
With this update, users will be able to view and manage in-progress downloads. You will be able to do this from the Downloads page. In addition to this, you will also be able to view and erase your browsing data much faster since this update comes with a redesigned History page.
With this update, users will also be able to Long-press a link to open it in a new Chrome tab (from Chrome Custom Tabs). This is not such a big change from what we currently have but it slightly improves users experience.
No Ad Blocker
Most people had expected an inbuilt ad blocker to come as part of Chrome. There have been rumours that suggested that Google was working on an inbuilt ad blocker in Chrome to filter out unwanted ads. Keep in mind it will not filter out Google’s own ads but those annoying ones that most of the times are meant to dupe users. If you were waiting for this ad blocker, bad luck, it is not in this update and we don’t have any information if it will be available in future updates.
