Tecno’s latest camera-centric smartphone, the Camon CX, has finally been launched in Kenya. The Camon CX was launched earlier today together with the Camon CX Air. The main selling point of the Tecno Camon CX is its 16MP front facing camera with dual LED flash.
The Camon CX takes over from the Camon C9 that was launched last year. The launch event was held at the Safari Park Hotel where Tecno spent a significant amount of time talking about the front facing camera and how its stands out from that of many smartphones on the market. With this, the company is definitely targeting younger customers who take lots of selfies.
The Tecno Camon CX has some impressive specifications for its price. Starting with the display, it has a 5.5 inch IPS with a resolution of 1080 X 1920 pixels. Powering this phone is the 1.5 GHz Mediatek MT6750T octa-core processor paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage space that can be expanded to 128GB using a microSD card. Clearly this is not a high performing device on paper but for its price these are decent specs.
As for the camera, we have mentioned that you get a 16MP front facing one, this is the same one you get at the back as the main camera. The back camera is supported with Quad Ring Flash that will ensure the photos you take in the dark are still worth sharing online. The front facing camera on the other hand is supported with dual LED flash. This camera also has a 120 degrees wide angle lens that will ensure you can fit more people in your selfies. I am pretty impressed with this so far and will have to try it out when reviewing the phone.
Below is a look at more specifications you can find on the Tecno Camon CX.
