In a month or two, Samsung will be unveiling its 2017 flagship smartphone. This year, there will be two variants, the standard Galaxy S8 and its bigger brother, the Galaxy S8 Plus.
We have seen a couple of photos of this device before but now we have a full list of specifications that reveal what the phone will be all about. The list was shared by seasoned tipster, Evan Blass, and sort of confirms some of the features we had heard the Galaxy S8 Plus will come packing.
Starting with the display, the leak reveals that the Galaxy S8 Plus will have a 6.2 inch one. This is a Super AMOLED display with a QHD+ resolution. This display has slightly curved edges and will not be as big as you think it will be. Above the display is an iris scanner and an 8MP selfie camera.
At the back sits the 12MP Dual Pixel camera. Keep in mind that this is a Dual Pixel Camera and not a dual-lens camera found on devices such as the Huawei Mate 9. Dual Pixel here is a form of phase detection autofocus that the company introduced with the Galaxy S7. In addition to this, the Galaxy S8 is IP68 certified dust and water resistant just like the Galaxy S7.
Powering the Galaxy S8 will be the Snapdragon 835 processor paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage space. If this space is not enough, you can expand it using a microSD card. Blass has also pointed out that the Galaxy S8 will support 4G LTE, Samsung Pay, wireless charging and will be secured with Samsung’s Knox security service.
