A few days ago, the Nokia 6 smartphone was released by HMD Global, the company that owns the exclusive Nokia brand licensing rights for mobile phones.
Well, the Nokia 6 is not the only smartphone the company plans to unveil this year. The company is making a comeback and let’s just face it, it cannot penetrate the market with one device. It needs a couple more targeting different market segments just to get started.
HMD Global knows this all too well and that is why the company is working on another phone that we will be seeing at Mobile World Congress. This smartphone will be the Nokia 8 Supreme. The phone will be showcased at MWC 2017 next month. MWC is the best platform for Nokia to showcase a flagship device and it looks like the company will be doing exactly that.
For the specs, the Nokia 8 Supreme will come with impressive ones. It will have a much bigger 5.7 inch display with a QHD resolution. This will be an upgrade compared to the Nokia 6 that comes with a 5.5 inch display with a Full HD resolution. Powering this beast will be the Snapdragon 821 or 835 processor paired with either 4 or 6GB of RAM and 64 or 128GB of storage. Just for comparison purposes, the Nokia 6 comes with the Snapdragon 430 processor, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage space.
In addition to the specs detailed above, the Nokia 8 Supreme will have a 24MP camera with Optical Image Stabilization. Nothing more about this camera has been confirmed but am expecting superior performance because this is Nokia we are talking about, the company has never disappointed in that department.
At this point the company has not confirmed what it plans to showcase at MWC, all I hope is we get to see more that just the Nokia 8 Supreme from the company, the company should also unveil other devices to ensure customers have the option to choose the one within their budget.
