A few days ago, we told you that Huawei has plans to update some of its existing devices with Android Nougat in 2017. The company had plans to update the Huawei Mate 8 and the P9 first before updating some of its other recent devices.
With Android Nougat, Huawei is not waiting for 2017 as it has started updating the Huawei P9 and Mate 8 units. The update has started rolling out to the device in China yesterday and this means those in other markets should be getting it very soon, probably before the end of the year. This update came as a surprise but is a good one nonetheless.
As mentioned above, the update has rolled out to the Mate 8 and the P9. For the Huawei P9, it brings build version B352 and for the Mate 8 it brings version B552. Huawei is also expected to push out the update to the P9 Plus before the end of this week.
The other devices from Huawei that will be getting this update include the P9 Lite, nova and nova plus. These might get the update in 2017.
