The Xiaomi Mi Mix is one of the best smartphones of 2016 from the design point of view. The phone is known for its almost zero bezels that give it a different look from what we are used to seeing on most smartphones. With that said, the Mi Mix is an appealing product to most Android enthusiasts but its huge size is not ideal for most of them. Most people hoped that Xiaomi comes out with the same smartphone in a small form factor.
A few days ago, rumours surfaced online indicating that Xiaomi was actually working on a smaller version of this device that was to be called the Xiaomi Mi Mix Nano. The rumours that Xiaomi was planning to launch this device early next month just in time for the holidays.
This would have been such a good device but unfortunately Xiaomi doesn’t have any plans of releasing this device right now. The company’s marketing director, Zanf Zhiyuan, has come out to categorically deny the existence of the Mi Mix Nano. He took to Weibo to say, “there’s no such product as Xiaomi Mi Mix Nano.”
The post by Zhiyuan has now been deleted and this raises more questions, is the company actually working on the said device? I personally don’t think the device is in the pipeline as the marketing director would not say the opposite of that. Keep in mind that we may see a smaller variant of the Mi Mix but this will not be called the Mi Mix Nano, it will probably have a different name.
