It’s no secret that Facebook is the king of social media, the company has seen its user base grow even as some of the other sites have been slowing down. Yesterday, Facebook reported its financial results for the quarter that ended 30 June 2016 and took the opportunity to brag about its user base.
The company revealed that over 1.71 billion people use its platform every single month. This is a big milestone for the company and dwarfs all the other social networking sites out there. These are the stats that both Facebook and its advertisers want to see and that is why the company is sharing them with the public.
“Our community and business had another good quarter,” said Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook founder and CEO. “We’re particularly pleased with our progress in video as we move towards a world where video is at the heart of all our services.”
From the stats shared, the company is clearly doing something right. Mobile advertising revenue accounted for 84% of its advertising revenue. During the same period last year, mobile advertising revenue was at 76% of all its advertising revenue. More and more people are spending their time on mobile and Facebook is clearly benefitting from this.
