Telkom Kenya has today announced the appointment of Mr. Kris Senanu as the MD of its Enterprise Division, effective Monday, August 1, 2016. The Enterprise Division comes up as a result of a name change from the initially announced structure that had identified the unit as the Fixed Division.
Earlier this month, Telkom Kenya had announced the formation of four primary Business Units: Mobile, Fixed, Wholesale and Real Estate.
“In order to align the organisation to meet client needs, we will change the names of two divisions: The Fixed Division becomes the Enterprise Division and the Wholesale Division becomes as the Carrier Services Division,” says Company CEO, Aldo Mareuse.
Coming on the heels of the announcement of other Senior Management additions at Telkom Kenya, Mr. Senanu brings 20 years’ experience into the business.
“Senanu’s regional experience and skillset to create strategic clarity, drive innovation and growth, result-oriented style, coupled with his passion for technology, will help ensure the turnaround of Telkom Kenya’s Enterprise segment,” says Mr. Mareuse, adding that “this is a key stone of our long term, global Transformation Project, as a business.”
“To enable us get this company to where it should be, we will scout for exceptional talents, both from within and from outside the business. Our people are going to be the real drivers of our business strategy and we need to get the best,” reiterated Mareuse.
Mr. Senanu announced his exit from Internet Solutions Kenya (formerly Access Kenya Group), earlier this year, where he is the Deputy CEO, a position he has held since March, 2014, having grown through the ranks at the same company from Commercial Manager in 2001, to Chief Operating Officer in 2005 and to Managing Director – Internet Division, up until the first quarter of 2014.
An MBA holder from Warwick University (UK), a Bachelor’s degree in International Business Administration, Marketing focus from the United States International University Africa, a CIM Chartered Marketer, Senanu’s prior roles have focused on creating shareholder value and radically transforming Internet provision into a key player in the telco space in Kenya and East Africa.
He joins Amer Atwi and George Mokogi, newly appointed MDs of the Mobile and Carrier Services Divisions, respectively, to reinforce the progressive strengthening of the company’s Senior Management Team.
Senanu also chairs the country’s Domain registry institution – Kenya Network Information Center (KENIC) and the Kenya Institute of Management (KIM) Business Committee. He is also a previous chair of the Telecommunications Service Providers of Kenya.
