Have you heard of LeEco? Probably not. You may not have heard about the company but trust me it is one of the fastest rising manufacturers out of china. The company has some amazing devices most of which have almost bezel-less designs and other flagship features at affordable prices. Here in Kenya, you can get LeEco phones from Avechi.
LeEco has today unveiled three new smartphones which are the Le Max 2, Le 2 and Le 2 Pro. All these smartphones are missing earphone jacks something we expect to find on every smartphone. The earphone jacks have been replaced with USB Type-C ports. This is quite an interesting move for the company and very commendable especially if you consider the fact that these are not your usuall high end devices as the most expensive one is the Le Max 2 which is retaining for $385 (approximately Ksh 39,000).
Let’s look at some of the specs of the LeEco trio.
LeEco Le 2
The LeEco Le 2 is the cheapest of the three and has a retail price of $170 (approximately Ksh 17,200). It has a 5.5 inch display with a 1080p resolution which is quite a good move. It is powered by a MediaTek Helio X20 paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage space.
At the back it has a 16 MP unit at the back with an 8MP one in front for all your selfies and video calls. At the back sits the fingerprint sensor and a 3000 mAh battery. This phone supports fast charging through the USB Type-C port.
LeEco Le 2 Pro
The LeEco Le 2 Pro on the other hand is available for $230 (approximately Ksh 23,000). It has the same 5.5 inch display with a 1080p resolution found on the LeEco Le 2. Under the hood it has the MediaTek Helio X25 combined with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage space.
For the camera, the LeEco Le 2 Pro has a 21MP camera at the back with an 8MP front facing camera. It also has a 3,000 mAh battery that supports fast charging and a fingerprint sensor at the back.
The LeEco Le Max 2
The LeEco Le Max 2 is the premium of the three with a $385 price tag (approximately Ksh 39,000). It has a much bigger 5.7 inch display with a QHD resolution (1,440 x 2,560 pixels). It is powered by a Snapdragon 820 coupled with either 6GB RAM for the 64GB of space variant and 4GB RAM for the 32GB model.
At the back is a 21MP camera with optical image stabilization. The 21MP camera on the Le 2 Pro doesn’t have Optical Image Stabilization. At the front is the same 8MP unit perfect for selfies and video calls. Still at the back sits a fingerprint sensor that uses Qualcomm’s ultrasonic fingerprint sensor technology. The battery is slightly bumped up to 3,100 mAh and also supports Quick Charge 3.0.
All the three phones come with Android 6.0 Marshmallow with EUI 5.5 on top.
